I’m excited to start a new feature here on the blog! Welcome to KidLit with Brigid! It’s pretty well known that if you want to raise a kid who likes to read, the best thing you can do is be a reader yourself. Once a month, I’m going to turn the blog over to my oldest daughter, Brigid, for her thoughts on her current reads!
My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George
This book is good for kids 7-11 years old because it’s longer. This book is about a boy who runs away from his house because he has 9 brothers and sisters and is feeling crowded. So he runs away to the Catskill Mountains and builds a house inside a tree. I liked it because it was very interesting. This was recommended to me by Mr. John (Oshrin) from Vroman’s (Bookstore.)
The Geronimo Stilton Books by Geronimo Stilton
These are my favorite books. My favorite Geronimo Stilton book is about him and a mummy. I like these books because they are easy to read, have colorful words and a lot of pictures. These books are good for kids 5-16 because they, for the 5 year olds, they mostly have pictures and for the 16 year olds and the ages in-between because they have a little bit of hard words.
DeadTime Stories: Invasion of the Appleheads by Annette Cascone
This book was a party favor from a birthday party from my friend Jordynn. It was not scary but not not scary. It was about a girl and boy, they are brother and sister, named Katie and Andy and their parents are taking them on a tour of a new town called Appleton and they don’t like it. A witch turns all the parents into Appleheads.
Hope you enjoyed these reviews and she’ll see you next month!
