I’m officially one week into the Vacation Capsule Wardrobe that packed for our 25 days in Wisconsin, (you can read the original post here.) If you missed the daily postings on Instagram, here’s the recap of the outfits:
Day 1 Travel Day!
For me, breathable and comfortable fabrics are a must for travel. Temperatures on airplanes can vary so I like to dress in layers to avoid roasting or freezing on board. Cotton and Poly blends are my favorite as they can dry quickly if someone were to spill on you… as does happen when flying with kids.
My first official day on vacation found me running few errands. We had to get diapers for the boy and we were off to decorate Grandpa’s Golf Cart as it was his birthday. The day started out a bit overcast, so I grabbed my biker jacket to throw over my blogging life tee and skinny jeans. Red Tieks and a pearl cluster necklace completes the look.
Day 3 Traveling again!
We were off to visit my dad and stepmother for the weekend. They live about 2 hours south of my Inlaws and so we were hitting the road. For the weekend away, I was taking 6 items from the capsule wardobe with me. The original plan was to wear the chambray shirt just over the leggings, but honestly, the shirt was a wee bit short and so I wrapped the scarf around like a sarong. This was not my favorite look, but sometimes you just have to make it work.
We split the time with a “girls” day and a “boys” day. Fritz hung out with Opa and headed to the dump and got a donut, while the girl cousins, Oma and I headed to a Saturday Craft Fair. Oma spoiled the girls with treasures galore and I got to indulge in a super sweet Thai Tea. For an easy day at the market, I paired the cowl neck sleeveless shirt with my blue printed shorts and yellow Tieks.
Day 5 What I wore Sunday!
We were heading back up to my Inlaws after a nice Father’s Day celebration with my dad. I haven’t celebrated father’s day with him in over 10 years, so this was a really nice time! For our trip back, I flipped my blogger life T inside out, threw on some leggings and slipped my Shawl Dawls chiffon shawl on as a poncho. Very Boho Chic, I must say! I even left my hair down, but didn’t get a good shot of that.
The Green Bay Children’s Museum was our destination today and I chose an outfit that would allow me to play with the kids and stay cool in the museum as well. A sleeveless shirtdress over leggings with red tieks did the trick and I grabbed my asymmetric zip top, just in case. My gold “leaf” necklace comepletes the look.
Sometimes you just have to go minimal. I did some laundry today and decided to channel my inner ballet dancer with a black faux wrap dress. My only jewelry are my earrings, watch and bracelet. We were headed to the Dairy Farm today to see the baby animals and get some ice cream, so Birkenstocks are on my feet!
