Back in September, I was goofing around on The ‘Gram and I started seeing these pictures of good old fashioned paper planners. One gal was hosting a photo link up revolving around paper planner and how people use them, etc. etc.
Now, I’ve always been a paper planner girl at heart, even though I am a bit of a techy nerd. There is something about the action of actually writing something down rather than dictating it to Siri or typing it into my phone. Plus, I have the schedules of 5 people to keep track of and while I love my phone, it can be hard to see what’s going on at a glance. Plus there is the bad habit my phone has of dying at the most inopportune time. I had been trying out differing types of paper planners and I just could jive to them. I felt a bit like Goldilocks in that the planners were too big, too small, too heavy, not enough room, not cute, etc, etc.
Back to that day in September with the pictures. I started seeing this really cute planner in varying people’s feeds. It was spiral bound, not to big and bulky and had the cutest patterns. That was how I was introduced to Erin Condren and her accessories brand.
Based out of L.A., everything Erin Condren makes (except for their iPhone cases) is designed, printed and crafted in house. For those of you near, their shop is located in Hawthorne, near LAX. I love the Island Fleur candle and I’ve been eyeing up an acrylic tray for a while, but my favorite hands down is the LIFE PLANNER! The front and back covers are heavy duty laminate with your name right on the front. It’s spiral bound, so it lays flat. I love the two page month view that allows me to see our month at a glance. (I’ve developed a love of Washi Tab because of my planner… you have been warned.)
It also is further compartmentalized into the week over view which is segmented into “morning,” “day,” and “night” sections. She gives you plenty of space to jot down notes and ideas all over the place and it even comes with a contacts section and blank paper for taking notes or for your kids to color and scribble on while they wait for the doctor, dentist or lunch! Each month is tabbed out for easy use and the tabs are laminated like the cover which is great because my planner takes a beating!
And to help corral all of the odds and ends, there is an attached two pocket folder as well as a see though zip-pouch, perfect for keeping track of stamps, cards, notes, business cards… you name it.
Last Thursday, the 2014-15 version of the Life Planner launched with some updates including an interchangable cover, clear page marking ruler and a removable perpetual calendar! I’m telling you, people were so excited about this planner that you couldn’t even access the site… it was so busy! By now, things have eased a bit and you should be able to see all of the goodies she has to offer. Your life planner will run you about $50 but you can take $10 off your first order just by using this link! (and I’ll let you in on a secret… as a thank you gift, you may receive a $10 gift card with your first order!)
